Research that is shaped with people and communities
NIHR Applied Research Collaborations bring together researchers, health and care services, local authorities, voluntary and community organisations, and members of the public to improve health and care.
ARC North West Coast carries out applied health and care research. This means research that addresses practical issues affecting people, communities, services and systems across Cheshire and Merseyside, Cumbria and Lancashire.
Public Contributors are central to this work. We involve Public Contributors in research projects, across our research themes, and in aspects of ARC governance, communications and development. Each research theme has Public Contributor Champions who help strengthen public involvement and make connections across the ARC.
