ARC NWC internships provide an opportunity for people employed by our member organisations who are interested in learning more about research, or taking the next steps in their research career.

An internship involves release from the workplace for up to a day a week, for up to a year to carry out a research project. Salary back-fill (a payment of up to £6,300) is provided to the intern’s employing organisation to assist with time release as well as research costs. During an internship, individuals receive supervisory and other support at the appropriate Higher Education Institutions. Interns have the benefit of working alongside other interns and researchers throughout the programme in a multidisciplinary environment. (University staff are only eligible to apply for Knowledge Mobilisation internships.)
