Be part of the change: Transforming care for females with chronic neck and back pain

For qualified healthcare professionals
Who can take part: Registered healthcare professionals (e.g., HCPC, GP Register, Society of Sports Therapists) who routinely assess and treat females with chronic neck and back pain.

What’s involved: A short 10‑minute anonymous online questionnaire exploring your professional background, your clinical experiences, your views on female‑specific factors and their relevance to pain and treatment.

Our why: Recent coverage in The Guardian highlighted a key gap in current UK guidance for chronic neck and back pain: despite emphasising personalised care, existing guidelines overlook sex‑specific biological factors. The article drew on our latest research which shows that this absence matters: sex‑neutral guidance can unintentionally miss the unique biological needs of women, limiting truly equitable care. So, now that we know the state of play at a policy level, we’re inviting healthcare professionals to share their insight to understand what is happening at an individual level.
