NIHR Fellowship Internships

Fellowships funded by the NIHR are available at multiple levels: pre-doctoral, doctoral, and advanced (post-doctoral). Interns will be expected to dedicate sufficient time to their internship to enable them to submit a robust application to the relevant NIHR funding call at the end of this internship. Activities in this internship will include: project proposal development; research skills training; networking with relevant stakeholders; and identification of organisational and academic support for the application. Fellowship applications supported by this internship stream must include supervision by academic researchers from one of the five ARC NWC HEIs. Applications can suggest a supervisor or one will be provided matched to their interests.

Calls for applications for NIHR fellowship internships are bi-annual.

The next deadlines for these internships are Monday 15th September 2025 at midnight.

Please get in touch with the ARC NWC Capacity Building team at arcnwc@uclan.ac.uk for more information about internships or to book onto one of our internship online drop-in sessions.

The internship application form can be accessed by clicking here. Please send any completed application forms to the ARC NWC Capacity Building team at arcnwc@uclan.ac.uk
