ARCFEST

12th September, 2023

We are delighted to invite you to our next ARCFEST, which will be taking place on Tuesday 12th September 2023 in the market town of Kendal, at the Castle Green Hotel.

We alternate the format of ARCFESTs to ensure they are delivering practical workshops and sessions which are benefitting all areas across the collaboration.

During September ARCFEST, which is non-hybrid (i.e. face-to-face), we will be hosting the following opportunities:

  • A RaCES (Rapid Conversion of Evidence Summaries) workshop dedicated to collaborating with seven distinct groups, facilitating the discovery of pertinent systematic review evidence that addresses specific practice-related inquiries. The primary objective of this workshop is to enhance participants’ understanding of synthesis methodologies, the critical evaluation of systematic reviews, and the practical implementation of this evidence in their respective fields.

Places are limited for this workshop, please direct any enquiries / request to attend the RaCES workshop only to arcnwc-midas@uclan.ac.uk.

  • A workshop to learn the how, why and benefits of being part of the Community Research and Engagement Network (CoREN), in a highly interactive, participatory and fun workshop. A chance to bring your ‘wicked problems’ to be turned upside down, engaged with and debated, share your own knowledge and insight into being research active and find new and unexpected collaborations to help you progress your ideas. Learn how the ARC NWC CoREN ‘offer’ can benefit everyone to move from problems to research that can be implemented with our communities to find real solutions
  • A session featuring presentations and panel discussion on Public Health Intervention Responsive Studies Teams (PHIRST) followed by an insight into the Health Determinants Research Collaborations (HDRC) and how both programmes can add value and support growth of research in the North West region while enabling local authorities to become research active, co-produce research, evaluate their impact, and produce and use evidence to shape practice and policy at pace.

Please use the ARCFEST Eventbrite webpage to confirm your attendance for either / both the CoREN and PHIRST / HDRC workshops and to find out more information about all sessions on the day.

If you are attending the RaCES workshop and your place has been confirmed, please use the ARCFEST Eventbrite webpage to confirm your attendance and simply click “No” to registering for the CoREN / PHIRST / HDRC workshops so we can capture all attendee details, access and dietary requirements, etc.

Early registration is essential so we can assess numbers to help shape our event and maximise the benefits to you.  Please ensure you register by 31st August 2023.
