HEMS PA Group Member & PA Deputy Co-Lead, IMPaCT
I completed my master’s in Business Administration from IMS, Pakistan. I moved to the Uk seventeen years ago, fourteen out of which I have spent in Liverpool with my husband and three beautiful girls. I have developed a sense of belongingness to Liverpool and call it home now. We have a lot of gratitude for NHS for the level of care and compassion we have received especially at the time when our youngest daughter was born three months early and had to spent eight weeks in the hospital. It was a time of reflection on what we could do in return.
I was introduced to ARC NWC through a friend and soon got involved in different projects. I realized the importance of health and social care research through co-production, to reduce health inequalities. I appreciate their sincere effort of investing in public and patient involvement at every stage of research and their focus on diversity to eliminate disparities. It will result in a more community-oriented model of care which will help improve the quality of health and social care.
My areas of interest are the Implementation of Evidence-Based Interventions, Tackling Socio-Economic Determinants of Health Inequalities, Mental Health, and Diversity. ARC NWC has introduced me to opportunities that have helped me in my personal and professional growth as I am learning new things every day. It is a good platform for sharing my opinions based on lived-in experiences, with health professionals and academics. I feel valued that my inputs will contribute towards research that will make a difference.
As I am the biggest advocate of seeking knowledge and education, I am looking forward to experiencing the different phases of research and engaging with a wider community of health professionals and academics. I wish to continue working with ARC NWC on their future projects.
