ARC NWC joins Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospital’s Quality Academy Annual Showcase

The recent Quality Academy Showcase at Warrington Hospital and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust illuminated impactful collaboration by spotlighting pivotal projects and engaging sessions that exemplified the region’s dedication to public involvement, empowering innovation, and professional development in health and social care.

A standout moment was the breakout session led by ARC NWC Director, Professor Mark Gabbay, who outlined the extensive career development opportunities offered through ARC NWC internships.

“We aim to provide comprehensive training and research opportunities to equip health and social care professionals with the skills needed to make a substantial impact,” stated Professor Gabbay. “ARC NWC is committed to empowering our member organisations to innovate and improve patient care.”

A breakout session focused on tackling healthcare inequalities, where Selina Wallis, ARC NWC Public Involvement Manager, alongside Sandra Smith and Alan Griffiths, Public Advisor Co-Leads for the ARC NWC Person-Centred Complex Care Theme, led a discussion on collaborative efforts to identify and reduce health inequalities. Their presentation underscored the pivotal role of public advisors in research initiatives, ensuring community voices are heard and addressed.

The event culminated in a dynamic panel discussion featuring insights from the day’s discussions, including perspectives from Professor Mark Gabbay and Sandra Smith. Alongside other session presenters, they explored the event’s highlights and charted pathways for future health and social care.

This showcase not only celebrated current achievements but also highlighted the collaborative efforts with Warrington Hospital. These joint initiatives demonstrate how partnerships can lead to significant advancements in patient care and community health, driving positive change and equitable health and social care solutions across the North West Coast
