The experience of the COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the unique and essential role of the VCFSE sector in protecting and promoting the health and wellbeing of communities, in normal time and especially at times of crisis. The experience seems to have increased the inherent capacity of the sector; increasing their connectedness and accelerating, through necessity, the development of new skills and ideas, especially in the digital realm. However, it has also depleted the resources of many organisations, at a time of increased need and continued austerity in public services. Come along to this free online lunchtime session to explore what ARC NWC researchers have found out about community-based voluntary groups’ response to the pandemic. We then want you to contribute your thoughts about how this research can help stimulate discussions that lead to change and impact moving forward.
