NIHR CAG Health of Women Liverpool meeting

30th April

Despite women making up 51% of the population, there are significant gaps in the data and evidence in regards to conditions that affect women more than men, conditions that only affect women and conditions during pregnancy. Following the 2022 policy paper on Women’s Health Strategy for England, in March last year the Birmingham BRC hosted the first national NIHR strategic workshop, bringing together NIHR infrastructure funded researchers aligned in improving the health of women. Following its success, the NIHR have subsequently developed eight focussed working groups and an overarching Collaboration Advisory Group (CAG) on the health of women and girls. These groups include representatives across NIHR and other key organisations and all aim to maximise the use of existing infrastructure and resources, with a national coordinated approach to improving the health outcomes for women and girls across their lifecourse. On April 30th The University of Liverpool will host the next annual meeting of the CAG and working group members. The meeting will bring together members from the working groups to discuss and sharpen the group’s focus, vison and purpose to strengthen the framework outcomes.
