I worked in the IT industry for over twenty years – but had to give that up due to ill health. I tried many different jobs after that – eventually becoming a full-time carer in 2004 for a family member. Being a carer highlighted how difficult things can be for the cared for and the carer – a MASSIVE inequality which has not changed much, if at all. I volunteer, when I can, for a local Advocacy Charity and a lot of the cases involve either

Health/Social Inequalities or both. I became involved with an organisation in 2017 called CLAHRC working on debt issues and then moved on into ARC working on Health Equity and Health Inequality projects.
