Dr Alison McLoughlin

Research Capacity Delivery Manager and Research Fellow, IMPaCT

Alison is a nurse with a special interest in stroke care and experience in acute, community, and academic and clinical research environments. Within the IMPaCT team she holds dual roles involving capacity building and supporting applied research delivery and implementation. She has experience in capacity building specifically supporting healthcare practitioners in their research journeys across all grades and levels of skill development. She is a previous CHLARC intern herself and has gone on to successfully complete an NIHR Doctoral Research Fellowship. Together with her counterpart Colette Miller, she leads the recruitment, and support, of research interns and students with an interest in undertaking co-produced research to reduce health inequalities in the North West Coast. She also supports the management of the Mental Health Roundtable. In terms of supporting applied research, she is currently working on research projects focused on the impact of peoples’ social circumstances on mental health and how health and social care services respond to this.
