Since 2010, I have been an active Public Contributor, contributing to national and regional health research, policy, and service improvement initiatives. As a survivor of Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection which caused a heart attack and former carer for my husband who had Motor Neurone Disease I bring lived experience alongside my professional contributions.
I have worked with the NIHR ARC NWC, Motor Neurone Disease Association, National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), Health Data Research UK, and Cheshire & Merseyside Palliative Care networks. My work has focused on patient-centred care, health equity, research co-production, palliative care, digital health, and improving support for people with long-term conditions and carers.
I currently serve as a Public Contributor Champion with NIHR ARC NWC and contribute to advisory panels, trial steering committees, and policy groups. I remain committed to ensuring public voices shape research, policy, and equitable health and social care services.
