Will is a Senior Lecturer in Health Economics at University of Liverpool. He has a PhD in Economics and expertise in health econometrics, particularly quasi-experimental methodology. His research interests are broad spanning primary care, social care, urgent and emergency care, dentistry, resource allocation, and health and work. A common thread across these is a passion for equitable access to health and care. In 2024 Will moved from Manchester to University of Liverpool to help develop a Health Economics identity at the University (HEEL).
Will cites his involvement in the CLAHRC-Greater Manchester’s Organising Healthcare theme as igniting a fundamental shift in his approach to research. Here, Will experienced and embraced the benefits (and challenges) of co-production and collaboration with health and care sector partners. In ARC-Greater Manchester, Will was Deputy Theme Lead on the Organising Care theme which saw him further develop engaging and productive relationships with local partners and experience the benefits of joined up health and care data via several projects utilising the local Secure Data Environment. Will brings this experience and an acute passion for embracing effective and impactful collaboration to his role as co-lead on the Evidence4Impact theme of ARC NWC.
