I joined CLARHC in 2019 via a NHS project and continued to ARC NWC. I was appointed Co-Lead of the PCCC theme, a member of the Governance Committee and the HEMS Committee which looked into Health Equity.
My interest in health began when I had to take early retirement due to me being diagnosed with a complex long term condition and my wife being diagnosed with terminal cancer – within two weeks of each other! To top it all my youngest son Christopher was brain damaged at birth and has a Learning Disability, Autism and Epilepsy.
The biggest project I have been involved in is DynAIRx which has been working on the development of an AI tool to carry out structural review of medication (or polypharmacy) for people with MLTCs. I’m also involved with two other projects: VNS Alert and the withdrawal of Sodium Valproate; both involved with epilepsy.
